Melvin L. Charlton, of Bellingham, WA, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 at his home. He was 77, born on October 25, 1937 in Bellingham to Hazel (Flint) and Thomas Charlton. Melvin served with the US Army during the Korean War. He was a life resident of Bellingham and enjoyed fishing and crabbing and was known for his apple and banana cream pies. Mel had a happy go lucky personality who enjoyed helping others and riding his motorcycle on trips were one of his greatest joys. Melvin co-owned and operated M&J Floor Coverings for over thirty years.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jan in 1999 and is survived by his daughter Debbie Charlton-Webb and son-in-law Jesse Webb; son Jeff Charlton; granddaughter Mackenzie Webb and grandson Steven Johnson; brothers, Albert James Charlton and Bobby Beddome; sisters, Lorraine Charlton and Jean Charlton; nieces and nephews; and many friends.
