Melvin G Oltman

Lifetime Whatcom County resident, Melvin G. Oltman passed away February 25, 2017 at the age of 62. Mel was born on December 3, 1954 to Harold and Alice (VanEgdom) Oltman in Bellingham, WA. He graduated from Bellingham High School and earned his B.A. in Arts at WWU. Mel was a kind, gentle, and loving man. His family was most important to him and he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Mel was strong in his faith and he appreciated God’s beauty in nature. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Deborah Gustafson. Mel is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Kay Oltman, children Hailey Oltman (fiancé Jason Hodges), Austin (Yvonne) Oltman, and Madison (Joseph “Kaimi”) Guerreriro, grandson Wesley, siblings Glenn (Carolyn) Oltman, Vicky (Rob) Hoagland, Tom (Lisa) Oltman and Steve (Robin) Oltman, and many loving relatives and friends.
