Michael H. Gavin

Mike Gavin, age 67, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 31, 2015. He was born October 25, 1947 in Denver, CO.

Mike moved to Whatcom County in 1969. He worked for 38 years at Intalco in the cast house and served as a business manager for the metal trades union. Mike loved being around his entire family and his home was always open to others. He enjoyed family road trips & vacations, going to the movies & out for meals. Mike was a kid at heart & loved taking his nieces, nephews & grandkids to the waterslides & amusement parks.

Mike was preceded in death by his father Herbert “Lindy” Gavin, mother Darlene O’Grady Miller, brothers Richard and Ricky Miller, and grandson Landen Harless. He is survived by his daughters Laurie Hill (Bill Hogg) and Cheri (Brian) Harless, son Mike (Kris) Gavin, grandchildren Cassandra (Jace) Henifin, Ryan Hill, Ashley Hill and Ripley Gavin, great-granddaughter Elaina Henifin, siblings Pat (Dora) Gavin, Teri (Kevin) McCoy, Jerry (Diane) Miller, Robin Miller and Robert (Kim) Moseley, former wife Elaine Kooistra, and many loving relatives and friends.

Memorials in Mike’s name may be made to Whatcom Hospice.

A Celebration of Mike’s life will be held at Westford Funeral Home at 2 PM on Friday, August 14th
