Michael McElwain, age 50, passed away peacefully in Bellingham on No-vember 16, 2016 after a short, valiant battle with cancer. He was born October 21, 1966 in Great Falls, MT to Mark and Toni (McCorkle) McElwain.
Mike was an amazing dad and his kids meant everything to him. He was passionate about music and was the lead singer in his rock band “NeilA”. Mike enjoyed camping with his family at Lake Cavanaugh and collecting rocks on the coast and in the mountains. He was an avid Washington Redskins fan.
Mike was preceded in death by his father Mark. He is survived by his two children, Alexis Marc and Kellen McElwain and their mother Lisa Dardzinski, brother Jeremy McElwain, mother Toni and her husband Bill Gwinner and his children Tim Gwinner, Heidi VanHeuklom and their families, grandmother Lois Gwinner, his dog Gilli, many loving relatives and friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.
