Michael J. “Mike” Westford passed away peacefully at home in Indio, CA on January 18, 2023. Born November 14, 1950 in Bellingham to John and Veronica Westford, Mike was the youngest of five children. He graduated from Bellingham High School in 1969. On June 16, 1979, he married the love of his life, Connie Cole, at Church of the Assumption. Mike attributed the longevity and strength of their marriage to their Catholic faith. Working as a career real estate broker, Mike and Connie lived in Bellingham, Anchorage, Everett, and Bow. They have enjoyed wintering in Indio, CA. He was honored to be a son, brother, husband, father, grandpa, uncle and friend. Mike was passionate about riding motorcycles, fishing, going to Mass, having people over for BBQs, sharing wisdom, and spending quality time with family and friends like Jon and Wendy Iseman and Mike and Mary Jo Wells. He loved his title of "Grandpa" to his treasured grandsons Elijah and Roman, and "Uncle Mike" to his nieces and nephews. He loved everyone and they knew it. He will be remembered for his one-of-a-kind presence, his ability to change people's lives, living his faith, his compassion and generosity, and telling all the entertaining stories and jokes. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, John and Veronica and sisters Joanne and Barbara. He is survived by his wife Connie, son Jason Peterson and his son Elijah, daughter Michelle Westford (David Cannon, Mike's treasured son-in-law) and their son Roman Michael (named after his Grandpa), his foster son Hunter (Sue) and their daughters Peaches and Coco, brothers Jack (Nancy) Westford and Jim (Micki) Westford, and many loving relatives and friends. A vigil prayer service with sharing time will be held at Westford Funeral Home, 1301 Broadway St. in Bellingham, on Wednesday, February 1st at 5 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of the Assumption, 2116 Cornwall Ave. in Bellingham on Thursday, February 2nd at 10:30 AM. Committal will follow at Bayview Cemetery, 1420 Woburn St., followed by a reception at Westford’s Broadway Hall, 1300 Broadway St.
