Mike Sofie, age 75, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015 at St. Joseph Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born December 15, 1939 in Bellingham to Daniel and Adeline Sofie.
Mike attended Assumption School and graduated from Bellingham High School in 1957. Mike was a local realtor for many years. Mike married Debbie Pitts on September 16, 1990. He enjoyed golfing, skiing, hunting, fishing and playing handball. Mike was positive, energetic, outgoing, friendly and radiated warmth to others. He was a devoted and loving husband and father and his kids adored him.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife Debbie, sons Gabe, Brett, Travis (wife Lisa), Ivan (Andrea), grandchildren Conner, Cole, Bradley and Julia, siblings Dan (Elaine), Edward, Robert, Mary Ann (Colin), Stephen (Janet), Nancy (Mick) and many loving relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of the Assumption, 2116 Cornwall Ave. in Bellingham on Saturday, September 12th at 10:30 AM. Reception following at the Church.
Memorials may be made to the PeaceHealth St. Joseph Cancer Center, 3301 Squalicum Pkwy, Bellingham, WA 98225.
