Mildred "Sue" Morrell

Sue Morrell, age 82, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 25, 2019. She was born October 19, 1936 to Bart and Frances Hedrick. Sue lived most of her life and raised her family in Orange County, California, and moved to Bellingham in 2003 to be closer to her daughter Linda. Sue foremost loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all of her heart, and was an active member of Rome Community Church. She enjoyed volunteering at St. Joseph Hospital, reading, and going to movies with her friend Karen- as long as the movie had a good, old fashioned, happy ending! Sue liked to present herself and her home in the best light. Sue was best known for her lovely cooking and holiday dinners and she enjoyed keeping in touch with her family and many friends. Her family and friends will miss her dearly, but we are comforted that we will see her again on that glad reunion day. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Albert Morrell in 1981 and her brother Richard Nelson Hedrick in 1996. Sue is survived by her son Michael Morrell (wife Laurie) of Providence, North Carolina, daughter Linda Morrell of Bellingham, grandson Shaun Albert (wife Krystal) and their son Lucas, sister Elaine Hunt (husband Ronald), sister-in-law Jo Hedrick, and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to thank Bellingham Fire and Rescue for their many trips to the family home to care for Sue. A service of remembrance will be held at Rome Community Church, 2720 Mt. Baker Highway in Bellingham on Saturday, February 2nd at 11 AM. A reception will follow. Pastor Scott Lidbeck will be officiating.
