Mildred Alveretta Osborne

Birdie Osborne, age 82, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Thursday, July 9, 2015. She was born October 8, 1932 in Sunnyside, WA to George and Bessie Payne.

Birdie and Jeff greatly enjoyed the 10 years they lived in Alaska. She enjoyed fishing, family campouts, outdoor adventures and family reunions in West Virginia. She dearly loved her children and all of the extended family. Birdie was gracious and was always generous with others. She was a founding member of the Nooksack Valley Church of Christ where she attended for the last 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sons Bob and Bill Gates, and Roy Gates, the father of her five children. She is survived by her husband, Jeff Osborne, daughter Rita (Guy) Smith, sons Michael (April) Gates and Brian Gates, grandchildren Ryan, Rodney, Ryder, Randy, Brandon, Hillary, Shannon, Amee, Trista, Alana, Brianne and Kristi, 28 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter, sister Alma and many loving relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made to Whatcom Hospice.

Visitation will be held at Westford Funeral Home from 2-4 PM on Thursday, July 16th. A Funeral Service will be held at Westford Funeral Home at 10 AM on Friday, July 17th. Reception following. Committal will follow at Greenacres Cemetery. Pastor Brian Sorensen will be officiating.
