Stormy died peacefully after a long struggle with Essential Tremor.
He was born August 11, 1936, in Bremerton, Washington to Irene Marie and North America Storms.
He moved to Bellingham, Washington, in 1958 to attend Western Washington College where he earned his degree in education as a music specialist. He also held a Master's Degree in School Administration. He taught music in Meridian and Lynden school districts for 10 years before moving to Bellingham to teach 5th grade at Geneva and Roosevelt Elementary Schools.
As well as teaching, he worked his whole life as a professional musician, playing with many different bands over the years including Bathtub Gin Party Band led by his brother Bob.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara, his daughter, Aarene(Jim), his son Randall (Alison), his granddaughters, Alexis (Anthony), and Cassidy, his brother, Robert (Marit), and in laws, Jackie Sears, Judy Irion, Tommy Cox, and so many cousins, nieces and nephews, and hundreds of friends.
A memorial service is planned for February 26th at 1:00pm at First Congregational Church of Bellingham, 2401 Cornwall Avenue. As well as in person, if you are familiar or comfortable with worshiping online, we encourage that for the care of all. You may join us starting around 12:50 pm at
