8/20/1911 – 9/24/2010
Olive Dannetta Allen Tilenda Harding started her journey August 20, 1911 in Redfield, South Dakota. She was a strong woman who survived the deaths of two husbands and her only child, Peggy. She is survived by her grand- and great-grandchildren Karen, Keith, Shannon, Sarah, Gary, Jana, Tom, Sarah, Samantha and Rex.
Olive learned to knit at the age of three, making socks with her mother for WWI soldiers. She loved all forms of handiwork and won many blue ribbons at county fairs. Olive raised her daughter during the Great Depression as a single mother, teaching school and cleaning houses.
We remember Olive as a woman of class and dignity. Ninety-nine-year-old Olive took her last breath on September 24, 2010 in her home, surrounded by family. Her strong spirit will live on in those who loved and respected her. A family gathering will be held. Memorials may be made to Whatcom Hospice or Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
