Pat Barten, age 87 of Bellingham, passed away peacefully with family members by her side on December 6, 2011. She was born October 24, 1924 in Waltham, MA, to Edward and Margaret Maroney. She married Ed Barten on May 21, 1949 in Newton, MA. They were married for 62 years until Ed’s passing on July 1, 2011. Pat was generous with her time and was always focused on helping others. She was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother who loved to spoil the grandkids.
She is survived by her daughter Kay (Jim) Gooderham of Missouri, son Phil (Debbie) Barten of Snohomish, WA, daughter Patricia (Barry) Kaiser of Bellingham, 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, two sisters and a brother.
Vigil Services will be held at Westford Funeral Home on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of the Assumption on Monday, December 12 at 10:30 AM followed by a reception at the Church. Committal will follow at Greenacres Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org .
