Patricia Mercedes Huntley

Patricia Mercedes Huntley went home to the Lord on April 27, 2022. She was 91 years old. She was born in Bellingham, WA on December 11, 1930 to James and Kathrine Ashe. Patty attended Assumption School, graduated from Bellingham High School in 1948, and attended Western Washington State College for two years. On March 28, 1950 she married the love of her life Richard “Dick” Huntley. They were married for 72 wonderful years and raised four boys together. Dick and Patty built their home on top of Alabama Hill and have lived there for 65 years. Patty was a lifetime member of Assumption Parish and Catholic Daughters. She also volunteered many years for the St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary. Dick and Patty spent many years boating in the San Juan’s with friends and family. Patty was a loving wife, amazing mother, and friend to so many. Her home was a place where all were welcome and was always filled with love and laughter. She had three older sisters, Helen, Kathleen, and Mary Lou who all predeceased her. She is survived by her husband Dick of the family home, four sons; Gil (Dar) of Lynden, Dick Jr. (Donna), Bob (Jyl), and John (Tanna), all of Bellingham, 10 grandchildren; Jared, Kevin, Jesse, Chad, Terra, Jake, Jeremy, Kesha, Joshua, and Dakota, 20 great-grandchildren; Hayden, Colin, Cameron, Kaleb, Kyler, Teagan, Emmit, Kai, Ashtyn, Trey, Oakley, Connor, Kailey, Griffin, Payton, Wyatt, Heidi, Sam, Logan, Maya, and numerous other relatives. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of the Assumption on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 11:30 a.m., with burial to follow at Greenacres Cemetery.
