Patricia "Pat" Lau

Patricia “Pat” Lau passed away peacefully at home, with her family by her side, on December 6, 2020. She was born on September 11, 1930 in Big Bend, WI to Norman and Jeanette (Peterson) Wilkin. Pat married Edward Lau in Milwaukee, WI in 1951. They moved to Torrance, CA in 1961, and she dedicated herself to raising her four children. Trained as a classical pianist, she gave private piano lessons in her home for fifteen years. In 1990 she retired, after twelve years, as a Fleet Coordinator at Bridgestone Tire Company and they moved to Bellingham. Ed and Pat had been members of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1997. While at Trinity Lutheran, Pat was an organist and a Bible study leader for many years. Pat raised her children to appreciate a wide variety of music, history, art, literature, travel and a deep faith in God. She was predeceased by her husband Ed in 2017. Pat is survived by her children; Alesia Altman, Steven (Marcia) Lau, Mark (Kim) Lau and Jenny (Joe) Rayna, grandchildren; Brandon, Cody, Alesia Marie (Jhustin), Megan, Matty, Calie (Nate), Taylor and Sean (Sarah), Dontae, and numerous great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. A virtual, live-streaming service will be held on Friday, December 11 th at 1:00pm. Memorials may be made to Whatcom Hospice or Trinity Lutheran Church.
