Paul Robert Textor, 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 8, in Bellingham. Paul is survived by his loving wife, Rose Mary Textor; his four wonderful children, Linda, Michael, Robert, and Nancy; and his two grandchildren, Jeffrey and Timothy.
Paul was born on August 5, 1935, in Ravenna, OH. He attended local schools and apprenticed as an electrician before embarking on a 45-year career in that trade. A master craftsman, Paul worked on many projects ranging from additions to his family's home to providing electrical wiring and systems for hospitals, large manufacturing plants, universities, and churches.
Paul married Rose on May 20, 1967, in St. Joseph Church in Suffield, OH. They lived in Kent, OH until his retirement in 1997. They soon moved to Gilbert, AZ to be near their daughters and other relatives. In 2008, Paul and Rose moved to the Pacific Northwest to be near their daughter Nancy, Dan her husband, and their grandson Timothy.
World travelers, Paul and Rose visited several countries ranging from Europe, Russia, and even Japan and New Zealand. They also traveled across the entire USA.
Paul led a life of service. He served in the National Guard for 16 years, attaining the rank of Captain. He also attained the rank of a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, having served for decades. Paul loved woodworking in his spare time, making furniture and toys for children.
A caring man and a loving father, Paul was preceded in death by his parents, his three brothers, and one sister.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of the Assumption in Bellingham on Friday, Dec. 23 at 10:30AM with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers we suggest a donation to your local hospice facility.
