Peggy Virginia (Scott) Koellmann, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2023 in Bellingham, Washington. She was born on July 19, 1941 in Leon, Iowa to John and Anita Scott. Peggy, a most loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and sister, is survived by her son Derek and his wife Jennifer, brother John and his wife Earlina, daughter Keri, grandsons Sam and Cameron, and granddaughter Madi.
Peggy lived in many places throughout her life, including Iowa, Idaho, California, and Washington. But her true home was in Spokane, WA where she raised her son, daughter, and grandson, and lived for most of her adult life. She was an incredible homemaker whose home was always welcoming, and yard and house impeccable. She always had love for everyone in her life and was an incredible mother, grandmother, and sister in addition to being a wonderful friend. She also had a love of animals and had numerous horses, dogs, cats, and other animals throughout her life that she took in and found great happiness in caring for. She had a love for music and played and taught piano throughout her life. Peggy was also a nurse who dedicated her professional career primarily to pediatric nursing and was the perfect person to take care of infants and children because of her kind and loving manner. She also loved to travel with friends and photograph her adventures and often spoke fondly of the time she spent doing so.
Peggy had the personality and natural charm to make friends no matter the situation. She was funny and fun to be around. She was someone that would always lend an ear and bring the best out of any situation. She was a kindhearted, giving, and genuine person. Peggy was a truly great person whose impact will forever be felt by her family and friends. Her willingness to sacrifice, provide, support, forgive, and love will be forever ingrained in all she knew. She was a selfless person whose passing leaves an unfillable gap in our hearts.
Peggy was an image of joy, laughter, and a tender soul— a mother, grandmother, teacher, mentor, caretaker, photographer, traveler, confidant, and a friend you wanted in your life. She will be missed.
