Ragnhild B. Costello, 97, passed away Thurs., May 23, 2013 in Bellingham. She was born Sept. 24, 1915 in Isanti, MN to Herman and Hulda Benson. She married Tripo Costello on Nov., 4, 1950. After moving to Bellingham she worked at Mullern & Asplund, Clyde Banks, Bon Marche and Stanley F. Norman Jewelers. She was also a very active member of Northwest Baptist Church for many years. She loved spending time with her friends and family, going on Sunday afternoon road trips, playing pinochle, and especially eating fresh crab. As the years went by the grandchildren and great-grandchildren came and she loved their glorious smiles and laughter. Ragnhild was preceded in death by her husband Tripo, son-in-law Greg Easterling, sisters Judith, Ruth and Helmey and brother Sigurd. She is survived by children Rob (Linda) Costello, Patti Easterling and Mark (Debbie) Costello, grandchildren Tammy (Darryl) Annette, Tena Costello Annette, Colby (Rob) Hunt, Shaynne Costello, 13 great-grandchildren (one more on the way), sisters Goldie, Marvel, and Phyllis and many loving relatives and friends. The family would like to thank Whatcom Hospice and respite caregivers Janet and Lynn for their love and care of Ragnhild. Memorials may be made to Whatcom Hospice. Visitation will be held at Westford on Tue., May 28th from 3-5 PM. A Celebration of Ragnhild’s life will be held at Westford on Wed., May 29th at 11 AM. A reception will follow across the street at Westford’s Broadway Hall. Committal will follow at Bayview City Cemetery. Pastor Ryan Jensema will be officiating. Feel free to wear pink, Ranghild’s favorite color, to the service.
