Richard Angeley

July 22, 1926 — October 20, 2010

7/22/1926 – 10/20/2010
Richard “Dick” Angeley, age 84 of Bellingham, passed away October 20, 2010 at his home with his family by his side.  He was born July 22, 1926 in Port Chester, NY to William & Dorinda (Lyon) Angeley, the youngest of five children.  He was a 1944 graduate of Greenwich (CT) High School, where he participated in theatre and sports.  Dick was a veteran of WWII, serving with the 4th Marine Division in the Pacific.  After discharge, he was employed as an Electronics Technician at Norden Division United Aircraft Corp.  Dick met his wife, Therese Tully, through work, and married on August 3, 1963, living in Stamford, CT.  In 1968, they moved to Florida, living in Ft. Lauderdale and then Lakeland where their five children were raised.  During those years, Dick owned his own electronics and TV repair business.  His enthusiasm for family and sports led to many years as equipment manager for the Lakeland Gators Youth Football League, and led to his passion for the University of Florida Gators where two of his daughters attended.  In 1982 the family moved to Venice, FL; surviving a tornado and enjoying extended family. Then in 1996, Dick and Terry moved to Bellingham and were soon followed by all their children and grandchildren.  Here he was able to enjoy his family, work in his garden, follow sports, and volunteer at the American Museum of Radio.  Dick was a gentle, kind and loving man who always placed family first, with humor and patience.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Dorinda, Eugene, and William.  He is survived by his wife, Terry; children Robin Angeley (Vidar Palsson) of Bellingham, Jeff (Julie) Angeley of Seattle, Michele (Michael) Shenkin of Bellingham, Sean (Jennifer) Angeley of Bellingham, and Kerrie (Ryan) Jennings of Albany, OR; grandchildren Audrey, Zachary, Anders, Maxine, Abraham, Finnur, Tulla, Lillylu, and Charlie; sister Ardella York and the entire Tully family.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date.  Donations may be made to the American Museum of Radio and Electricity (1312 Bay St., Bellingham, WA 98225) or to Whatcom Hospice Foundation (800 E. Chestnut, Suite 1-A, Bellingham, WA 98225).
