Richard "Dick" Duane Garnick

Richard “Dick” Duane Garnick was born June 7, 1946, in Boulder, Colorado to Dale and Rose Garnick. He attended Campion Academy, graduating in 1964. He would often share his fond school memories and attended homecoming as often as he could to visit with his lifelong friends. He joined the Army after high school and was a medic while serving in Germany. He moved to Riverside, California to attend college and received an Associate Degree in Dental Technology from Riverside Community College in 1973. After moving to Bellingham, Washington he worked as a dental lab technician for 43 years, opening his own lab, “Dick’s Crown and Bridge Lab” in 1976.

He was an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and devoted his life to Christ. Dick had an adventurous spirit and loved to share his many hobbies and interests with friends and family.
Dick had many visitors prior to his passing. He remembered every name and cherished the time he spent with them. After an extended illness, Dick passed away on June 13, 2024.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Rosemary Goss Garnick, his children Leigh Anne Garnick Saunders of Mountlake Terrace and Mark (wife Jennifer) Garnick, grandchildren Carver and Livi Garnick of Kenmore, WA, sister Peggy Ann Garnick, nephew Darin Alexander, niece Pam (husband Nate) Marco of Plains, MT, and their children, his half siblings Shirley, Everett, Marsha, and R. Dale, stepchildren Joel, Randy (wife Linda) Anfinson, and step-grandchildren Hope, Cadence, Noah, Aiden, Isabel, and Emily. Dick made many friends over his lifetime - most he called family.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 21st at 2:00pm at the Bellingham Seventh-day Adventist Church, 5321 Waschke Rd. Bellingham, WA.

Memorial donations in Dick’s name may be made to Eden Hospice or your favorite charity.
