Richard F. “Dick” Dunphy passed away on December 28, 2017 in Stanwood, WA.
Dick was born January 4, 1922 in Chicago, IL. Dick served in the US Army during WWII. He married Marian Ovenell in Manhattan, Kansas in 1943. Dick worked for Sears Roebuck in automotive and appliances for nearly 40 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #7 in Bellingham. Dick enjoyed bowling and was an avid rock hound with the Mt. Baker Rock & Gem Club. Dick and Marian have been active members of Grace Bible Church since their move to Marysville. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Annette and brothers, Irving Loeb and General Ray Conroy. He is survived by his precious wife of 74 years, Marian, children Diana (Bill) Bertram, Dr. James (Elizabeth) Dunphy and Patricia (Tim) Bellows, sister, Donna (Ted) Besser and numerous loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. A Funeral Service with reception following will be held at Grace Bible Church, 8521 67th Ave NE in Marysville, at 11 AM on Friday, January 5th. A graveside service with military honors will follow at Greenacres Memorial Park, 5700 Northwest Dr. in Ferndale at 2 PM. Share your memories at www.westfordfuneralhome.com .
