Robert "Bob" A. Hudson

October 13, 1942 — August 25, 2024

Bellingham

Robert “Bob” Allen Hudson, age 81, passed away August 25, 2024, at his home in Bellingham, Washington.

Bob was born October 13, 1942, in Bellingham to parents Charles and Evelyn (Burtenshaw) Hudson. He graduated from Bellingham High School in 1960. A lifelong resident of Whatcom County, Bob was born and raised on W. Indiana St. in Bellingham and was so proud of being an Eagle Scout.

He met and married his soulmate, Mary Jane “Bunny” Ferguson, and they had two daughters, Brenda and Becky. He was a fun and loving dad, proud of his girls and their many accomplishments, but most moved by their generous spirits; Brenda, a blood donor, was recently recognized for more than 100 donations, and Becky has knitted almost 2,000 “knockers” for women who have had mastectomies. Known as one of the friendliest delivery drivers in Whatcom County, Bob never met a stranger! He had an insatiable love for old cars (particularly Morris Minors) passed down from his dad. Bob was a collector at heart, a lover of fun, a teller of stories, and as his dad said about his only child status, “we went for quality, not quantity.”

He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Evelyn, and many beloved family dogs.

Bob is survived by wife, Bunny, daughters, Brenda Hudson and Becky (Tom) Rawlings, bonus daughter, Tam “Grunny” Grunhurd, and carloads of good friends and family, both local and across the border. Bob will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

A gathering will be hosted by his family at the end of September.
