Bob Marr, age 84, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2012 at Hospice House in Bellingham. He was born October 11, 1928 in Bellingham to Gilbert and Elva Marr. Bob graduated from Bellingham High School in 1946 and attended Washington State University, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He married his high school sweetheart, Mildred “Middie” King on September 18, 1948 and together they raised their three children in Bellingham. Bob was co-owner of the Credit Bureau of Whatcom County with his brother-in-law Chuck Halbert from 1958 until he retired in the late 1980’s. Bob enjoyed many years of salmon fishing with his buddies. In retirement he and Middie created many lasting memories traveling in their RV throughout the U.S. Bob was well-respected and known for his honesty, fairness and loyalty. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be dearly missed. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Tom. He is survived by his one and only love, and bride of 64 years, Middie, son Steve Marr, daughters Cindy Marr Loyd and Suzie Marr Macbeth (partner Bob Zoerb), grandchildren Willow Marr (husband Helo Mustafa) and their daughter Zara, Misha Marr (wife Olivia) and their children Violet and Rigby, Lindsay Loyd (husband Adam Berkowitz) and their daughter Marissa, and Adam Loyd, sister Marcia (husband Monte) Bianchi, twin sisters Sara (husband Dick) Davis and Sally Leland, sister-in-law Joanne Marr and many loving relatives and friends. We would like to thank everyone at Whatcom Hospice, especially our dear nurse Anne and our wonderful chaplain Mary. Memorials may be made to Whatcom Hospice. Visitation will be held at Westford on Wednesday, November 7th from 2-4 PM. A Celebration of Bob’s life will be held at Westford on Thursday, November 8th at 11 AM, followed by a reception across the street at Westford’s Broadway Hall.
