After a valiant lifelong battle with a debilitating illness Robert Elston passed peacefully on October 25, 2012. Robert was born in Redondo Beach, California on February 6, 1963. He attended school in Spokane before moving to Bellingham to be near family and friends. He received his Associates Degree in General Studies from Whatcom Community College.
Robert was a kind and gentle person who despite difficult times in his life never swayed from his faith in the Lord. Robert is survived by his loving mother and lifelong advocate Julie Glenovich Michel, his brother James Elston of Oregon along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins throughout Washington.
Robert enjoyed walks in the beautiful mountains of Western Washington where he camped and hiked and found many days of peace and joy. Robert felt strongly about the good work that the Lighthouse Mission of Bellingham performs year after year for those less fortunate among us and in lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to the Lighthouse Mission in Robert’s name.
