Bob Watson, age 52, died Sunday, May 27th at North Cascades Health and Rehabilitation  Center after a long battle with multiple sclerosis, which he fought bravely to the very end. He was surrounded by his family and the caring staff of North Cascades during his illness.
Born February 21, 1960 in Wenatchee, WA, he was a lifelong Bellingham resident except for his time spent in the U.S. Army in Germany. After his Army service, he also served in the Army National Guard. He graduated from Bellingham High School in 1979 and also took classes at Whatcom Community College in Computer Sciences, after his military service. He was in Phi Beta Kappa while at Whatcom Community College.
He was very family oriented and the most important people in his life were his three daughters, his mother, father and sister. He was known for his independence and his sense of humor, which were both evident even during his illness. He was very interested in martial arts as a boy, and continued this interest in martial arts films. He enjoyed working on computers and reading throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lester and Maude Wambsgans and Denton and Mary Watson.
He is survived by his daughters, Racheal Watson, Mary Watson and Katelynn Watson, parents Cecil and Patty Watson, sister, Kathie Watson-Gray and her husband Tim Gray, high school sweetheart, first wife, and mother of his eldest daughters Susan Wood, second wife and mother of his youngest daughter Gloria Watson, and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at North Cascades for the excellent care and compassion that they provided to Bob and his family during his illness. Services were held at Enterprise Cemetery in Ferndale. Memorials may be made to the Northwest chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at www.nationalmssociety.org .
