Rob was born March 19, 1978 in Bellingham and passed away at Whatcom Hospice House on Saturday, October 8, 2016.
He was raised in Ferndale and graduated from Ferndale High School in 1996. Rob attended Bellingham Technical College, where he was trained as a welder. His greatest accomplishment was working at Andgar, especially with co-workers Chad and Paul. Rob took enormous pride in performing strategically difficult welding tasks. His best days were spent with his wife Michelle and son Riley. Rob enjoyed lighting fireworks at Birch Bay on the 4th of July, riding his motorcycle on a sunny day, and bringing in a “limit” of fresh crab.
Rob is survived by his loving wife Michelle and their beloved son Riley, parents Linda and Bob Wilson, sisters Aimee Johnson and Megan (John) Tufano, aunts Janet Oiness-Kennedy and Susan (Ken) Richardson, uncle Rick (Lynn) Wilson, cousins Ryan (Angie) Richardson, Robyn (Lisa) Johnson, Jeffrey (Katharine) Wilson, Jennifer (Divven) Browne, nieces and nephews Samuel Tufano and Luke, Lauren and Lindee Johnson. He was preceded in death by his great friend and cousin, Peter Wilson and his grandparents Idris and Melvin Oiness and Helen and Dick Wilson.
Rob had a great sense of humor and wonderfully skilled hands. He loved flying his drone “Spizzbittle”, hanging with his cousins, and being a great father and uncle. His life being cut short is a tragedy to all those he knew and loved. He will never be forgotten and will be remembered with a special fondness reserved for the “Good Guys”.
Private family services will be held.
