Tim attended Assumption Catholic School, where he met Molly McKee in the second grade. They were married 57 years. Tim graduated from Bellingham High School in 1956 and later earned his BA in Communications at WSU. While serving on assignment in the U.S. Army in Europe during the Cold War era, he was able to travel and interview soldiers. He also saw much of Europe and the Middle East, including Egypt.

Tim had many interests including archaeology, Egyptology, paleontology, and astronomy. He also enjoyed his A/V production work, comics, science fiction, radio plays, scenic travel, and following international news on geo-politics. He loved decorating for the holidays, specifically July Fourth, Halloween, and Christmas. He was active in many organizations including Church of the Assumption, Bellingham Traditional Jazz Society, Fourth Corner Fly Fisherman, American Legion Post 7, and the Bellingham High School Alumni Band. He actively volunteered at Hope House and drove the van for the Bellingham Food Bank for many years. In retirement, Tim enjoyed spending time at the Spark Radio Museum where he produced a program about important 20th century voices, as well as hosting a music program. In earlier years he had a radio show on KUGS, called Soundtrack, which featured scores from various movies. He was active in the outdoors and swam daily in the summer, hiked in the fall, and cross-country skied in the winter. In the spring he could be found with a crew planting trees or cleaning creeks for local conservation. Tim was passionate about broadcasting and worked for KARI for 38 years.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife Molly O'Connor, son Todd (Jamie) O'Connor, granddaughter Christina (Andrew) Miller, great-granddaughters Suri and Halle, brothers Mike (Elsa) O'Connor and Dan (Randi) O'Connor, and many loving relatives and friends.
