Ronald Larsen passed away in Bellingham on January 27, 2022 at the age of 76. He was born in Bellingham on June 19, 1945 to Edwin and Mildred (Cox) Larsen. Ron graduated from Bellingham High School in 1963. Ron served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1970 and was stationed overseas in Europe. Ron led somewhat of a nomadic lifestyle. Many of his adventures led him to different job opportunities and places he called home. He spent some years working at GP in Bellingham, Washington and a number of years working at the various local refineries. He spent several years working on commercial fishing vessels in Alaska, fishing for both crab and salmon. Ron also spent multiple years doing construction work in both Colorado and Washington.
Ron always had a best buddy dog by his side, Wolfdog, Buddy, Larry and Earl to name a few. Ron enjoyed numerous hikes, beach walks, river walks and camping adventures with his dogs and friends. His love of working with his hands led him to creating furniture and art using salvaged/repurposed materials, always representative of his unique style.
He will be greatly missed by his friends and family and all who understood his fun-loving, living-in-the-moment personality. Ron was always the jokester, and pulled off some of the craziest, funniest pranks on the friends and family he loved so dearly.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Mid. He is survived by his daughters Jennifer Richardson and Nika Larsen, son Bryan Dorr, sister Carolyn Smith and long-time friend “Gumby” Kathy Macmillan. You may share memories at
