Roy Frank Weaver, age 93, resident of Mt. Baker Care Center, passed away from heart  failure Saturday morning, Sept. 22, 2012.
He is survived by his son Darrell Weaver (wife Cathy) of Olympia, daughter Sue Buerk (husband Artie) of Whidbey Island, Seattle and Indian Wells, CA. and grandchildren; Rebecca Vallespinosa Dale (husband Andy) of Seattle, Melinda Presley (husband Bob) of Olympia; Darren Weaver of Austin, TX; and Ryan Weaver of Olympia. Frank leaves 4 great-grandchildren; John, Elizabeth, Joseph Dale and Cameron Presley. His loving wife of 70 years, Viola Marie Weaver and granddaughter Tia Marie Vallespinosa Sullivan preceded him in death.  Frank was a lifetime resident of Bellingham. He graduated from Fairhaven High School in 1936. He was a graduate of the Northwest Radio and Television School in MN. where he met his future wife Vi.  Frank also attended classes at WWU. He served in the US Navy for 2 years and taught school at the Electrical Apprentice Night School for many years. He worked at the Mobile Oil Refinery in Ferndale for Mills Electric for 27 years. He was a 52 year member of the International Brotherhood Electrical Workers Union, a 19 year member of the Elks Club, and was a member of the American Legion Post# 212 in Sumas and the Congregational Church.  Frank was a devoted husband to his wife. Vi was his mainstay in life.  In his younger years he loved to hike and fish in the Mt. Baker area with family and friends including the Floyd Cyr and Rod O ‘Conner families. He and his wife as a team built their Plymouth Drive home in the fifties. Later they became snowbirds and spent many happy winters in Mesa, Arizona.  Frank will be sorely missed as a father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. There will be a private family burial service at Bayview Cemetery in October. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Bellingham Food Bank, 1924 Ellis St., Bellingham, WA. 98225.
