Samuel Jace Edmerson, born on May 27, 1998, passed away in his sleep on March 29, 2025 at the age of 26.
Anyone who knew Sammy can say that he was kind and compassionate, willing to help anyone in need. He liked peanut butter pie and tater tot casserole. Anime and video games both consumed his free time. He absolutely loved animals. He often sent pictures of puppies to his mother and was always willing to care for his brother’s dogs. Sammy was unable to finish high school but showed his artistic side in his weapon forging skills, his bedroom wall graffiti, and social media poetry. He was greatly misunderstood — which we told him and he did not care.
It is important to know that Sammy was an extraordinary person. He was born weighing just 1 lb. and 13 oz. and he became the glue in our family. This person was born to fit in the palm of a hand and he fought his entire life to make a place in this world. He battled uncontrollable obstacles throughout his life that left him in a constant state of just existing, but no one would know that because Sammy carried himself with more grace than anyone gave him credit for. He was a true survivor in life.
Sammy is survived by his devoted mother, Tarah Hale, and a true father, Richard Williams. He is loved unconditionally by his siblings: Sadie Branson, Jacob Williams, Kylie Kober, Tre Hale-Edmerson, and Seth Edmerson. He found a guardian angel in Carol Totten. There are too many names to list to say thank you for loving Sammy, but know that all of the kindness given to him allowed him to see the best in the world.
Carry on, my wayward son,
There'll be peace when you are done.
Lay your weary head to rest,
Don't you cry no more.
