Sandra Alice Sternhagen

Sandra Alice “Sandee” Sternhagen was born February 14, 1948, in Bellingham to Alvin and Alice Tisland. She spent her youth in Minnesota, Alaska, and Bellingham, eventually graduating from Mt. Baker High School in 1966. Later that same year, she married Robert “Bob” Sternhagen on November 4th. In 1975, Sandra gave birth to one of the greatest humans on planet Earth, her son, Rieker.

Sandee worked for the Bellingham School District, and after 30 years of service, she retired. She and Bob loved traveling to Hawaii and Arizona over the years and did so many times. She especially loved her grandchildren Lincoln, who was born in 2005, and Gavin, who was born in 2008. They were the light of her life.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Alice. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert, son Rieker, daughter-in-law Melissa, grandchildren Lincoln and Gavin, brother Mike (Jodi) Tisland, sister Cyndi (Ken) Ronk, and sister-in-law Joan Siden.

A memorial service will be held for Sandee on Wednesday, February 7th at 6PM at Westford Funeral Home with a reception following at Broadway Hall.
