10/03/1969 – 11/19/2012
Shani Patricia Hatfield, 43, of Bellingham, Washington, passed peacefully from the care of her husband and family and entered into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on November 19th, 2012.
Shani was born in Portland, Oregon on October 3rd 1969. She attended middle school in California and moved to Bellingham in 1983, graduating from Sehome High School in 1987. Shani focused her life and love on her relationships with her daughter Alischa, her husband Reed and her extended family.
Shani enjoyed trips to the Oregon coast, camping, boating and being at home, but her greatest joy was to be with her daughter, husband, family and friends. She had a natural gift with children and brought her loving spirit to every family member, friend, youngster and animal in her path. She was loved and fondly given the name “Aunt Chi Chi” by her nephews; Tyler, Jayden and Bowen Anderson. Her dog, Gracey, was her constant and well-loved companion.
She is survived by her husband Reed Anderson and daughter Alischa Hatfield Anderson; father, Gary Hatfield (Sherrie); mother, Debbie Georgiev (Chris); sister Brook Hatfield; Reed’s parents, Kitty Streubel (Stan) and Steve Anderson; grandparents, Bill and Maxine Queen, MaryAnn Hatfield and Emma Anderson; sister in law, Debra Coles and brothers in law, Brian and David Anderson; her aunts and uncles, Tim and Sheri Wagner, Dick and Denise Queen, Greg Queen, Richard and Kathryn Bennett, Judy Sturte, Gloria Linderman, Danny and Wayne Anderson, Andy and David Wachs and Susan Howard.
Also surviving are her cousins, Stefani Gibson and Elisabeth Knowles, who, along with Shani, thought of themselves as “a younger version” of Charlie’s Angels. She is also survived by her cousins Tara Yoshiwara and Nolan Wagner and her special friends Allison Frank and Shawn Bond.
Shani was preceded in death by her grandfather, Allen Hatfield and grandmother, Bobbye Hatfield.
A gathering to celebrate Shani’s life will be held from noon to 3pm on January 12th, 2013 at Broadway Hall, 1300 Broadway, Bellingham, Washington.
