Shirley Jeanne Klugger Soderstrom

Shirley Jeanne Klugger Soderstrom passed from this earth on August 31, 2018. She was born in Rock Island, Illinois, to Fred Thomas Klugger and Mabel Belle Boynton Klugger on October 29, 1930. She was a 1948 graduate of Rock Island High School and married Melvin Andrew Soderstrom on June 18, 1949, in Moline, Illinois. In addition to motherhood, she filled a number of roles during her life beginning with pastor’s wife and church pianist, followed by secretary, medical office manager, and lastly real estate agent and graduate of the N.C. Realtors Institute at N.C. State University. She is preceded in death by her husband Melvin, and brothers, Fred, Jr. and William. She is survived by her son Lawrence Paul Soderstrom and wife Karen Elaine Kellogg Soderstrom of North Carolina, son David Andrew Soderstrom and wife Maria Imelda Tanoto of Australia, and grandchildren Thomas, Erik, James, Mary, Annika, Johannes, and Niklas Soderstrom. A visitation will begin at 1200 Noon on Saturday, September 8th at Westford Funeral Home with services beginning at 2:00 p.m. A reception will follow at the funeral home.
