Shirley E. Miles

Shirley E. Miles, age 86, passed away on June 8, 2017 in Bellingham. She was born April 7, 1931 in Bellingham, WA to Cecil and Ellen Barter. She graduated cum laude from Bellingham High School in 1950. Shirley worked as an agent at Unity Group Insurance for 25 years. She was active in the Bellingham Eagles, bowling league, and played pinochle with the same group of friends for over 50 years. Shirley enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband, Jim Miles. Christmas Eve and Easter egg hunts were always fun events at Grandma Shirley’s house, and many memories were made. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Jim Miles, former husband Gordon Loomis, brother Lloyd Pearson and half-sister Darlene Burgess. She is survived by her three daughters Marcia (Bill) Dorn, Marie (Kel) Erickson and Marilyn (Kelly) Stamm, step-daughter Linda Lundberg, half-brother Ron (Sue) Barter, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many loving relatives and friends.
