Sokun Chan

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our father, Sokun (Koy) Chan, who passed away Tuesday March 8, 2023 after a sudden heart attack. Sokun was born May 5, 1950 in Somrong, Cambodia to mother Lee Houng and father Chout Peet. He later migrated to the States in the late 70s, where he settled in Nooksack, Washington. He then later married Skim Mula in 1980 who passed away 12 years ago.

Sokun was known for many things, but that didn’t stop him from taking care of his family who loved very much. He leaves behind his son, Kean Chan, 3 stepchildren whom he raised from a very tender age, Sony Webster, Sam Prak, and Som Prak, 14 grandchildren, his sister in Cambodia who was hoping to see him next year, and many other family members and friends.

Please join us celebrating his life Saturday March 18, 2023: Monks’ prayers from 9am-12pm at Broadway Hall, 1300 Broadway, Bellingham, WA, followed by a vigil from 1pm-3pm at Westford Funeral Home, 1301 Broadway, Bellingham, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sokun’s stepdaughter, Sony Webster 360-510-0248.
