On Thursday, August 5, 2010 Stefan Rose passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his beloved family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Stefan was born March 26, 1957 in Marburg, Germany and grew into a deeply loved and respected husband, father, son, brother, and friend. Surviving family members include his loving wife of 26 years, Lella, his children Alexandra and Steven, his father Karl Heinrich Rose, his brother, Tom (Barbara) Rose, and sisters Christine (Danny) Dahlen and Bettina (Eddie) Konrad. He is preceded in death by his mother, Rosemarie.
Stefan lived his life with the deep love and well-being of his family as his greatest passion and foremost priority. He will be forever remembered in how he enjoyed spirited and insightful conversations, enjoyable rounds of golf, especially with his talented son, Steven, being wrapped around the baby finger of his precious beautiful girl and stead-fast caregiver, Alexandra, and the many adventures to numerous destinations throughout the world with the love of his life, Lella, who was a well of strength and courage for Stefan throughout his most challenging journey; their 13-year road to survive cancer.
His life’s work acts as an inspiration and legacy to all of his friends and colleagues and to countless others who have been touched by his skill and wisdom.
The family wishes to express their thanks to the many friends and care-givers that have supported Stefan and his family throughout the years and days leading up to his passing, especially Dr. Sharf and Whatcom Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Stefan’s memory to Whatcom Hospice Foundation; 800 E. Chestnut, Suite 1A, Bellingham, WA, 98225.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of the Assumption on Thursday, August 12 at 10:30 AM followed by a reception at Westford’s Broadway Hall, 1300 Broadway.
