Celebration of Steve’s Life: Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Christ the King Church, Bellingham.  Reception will follow.
Steve Cronkhite, age 67, passed away peacefully at home in Bellingham, on October 14, 2010. Steve had lived with kidney cancer for over 8 years.  He was born February 7, 1943 in Everett to Philip & Phyllis (Bowen) Cronkhite.  Steve graduated from Bellingham High School in 1961 and later graduated from WWU with a degree in Psychology.  He married Grace Reed, his college sweetheart, on July 31st, 1965.  Steve was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who showed unconditional love to his family and many others who became like family through the years. Steve owned and operated Puget Sign Company for many years.  Throughout the years Steve has been involved with Boy Scouts, Rotary, Toastmasters, the Masons, First Congregational Church, the Whatcom County Republican Party and the Northwest Business Club.  Steve combined his passion for travel and computers in the website that he created, northwestplaces.com. Steve was outgoing, friendly, and loved to engage in good conversation and debate with anyone he met.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents Philip and Phyllis; sisters Vicki and Cyndy; and great-granddaughter Chandler Grace Ryan.  He is survived by his wife, Grace Cronkhite; daughters Kimberly (David) Ryan of Bellingham, Amanda (Jose) Nunez of Bellingham, and Alexandria (Michael) Washek of Lancaster, OH; grandchildren Elissa, Madison, Victoria, Nate, Sadie, Philip, Adrianna, Carter, Ryan, Jordan, Parker, and Peyton; and a large extended family.
A Celebration of Steve’s Life will be held at Christ the King Church Bellingham, 4173 Meridian St., on Thurs., Oct. 21 at 1 PM followed by a reception.  Memorials may be made to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, 825 Eastlake Ave E, P.O. Box 19023, Seattle, WA 98109-1023 or at seattlecca.org.
