Thomas Warren Farnell, of Bellingham, WA, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. Tom was 67, born in Centralia, WA on January 12, 1948 to Robert and Ella (Jackson) Farnell.
He graduated from Centralia High School and drafted into the US Army in 1968 serving in Germany during the Vietnam Era. After Tom’s Army service he went back to college and graduated with a BA in Art from Western Washington State College (WWU). Tom spent his career as a machinist working for Rooney Machine Co. and Precision Machine. He was an avid drummer, fly fisherman, motorcycle and race car driver and was a member of the 4th Corner Fly Fisher Club and Washington Vintage Motorcyclist Club. Tom also loved music, books, history and snow skiing with Howard.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his brother William Farnell. Tom is survived by his wife, Vicki whom he married August 9, 1975 at Point Defiance Park in Tacoma, WA; beloved daughter Emma Mae Farnell; mother-in-law Gloria Reinhardt; sister-in-law Melanie (Howard) Bade; nieces Kyndra Bade and Kim and Shauna Farnell, nephews Erik Bade and Brian Farnell, and great nephew Cullen Horne.
The family especially wishes to thank friends Scott, Pete, Fritz, and Mike and Cathy for their loving support. Also, we appreciate the kind care received by the Cancer Center and Nancy and her Hospice team.
A celebration of Tom’s Life will be held 3:30 p.m., Thursday, June 25, 2015 at the VFW Post 1585, 625 N. State Street, Bellingham.
