Thomas L. "Tom" Haugen

January 10, 1920 — January 8, 2015

Tom Haugen, age 94 of Bellingham, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2015. He was born January 10, 1920 in Minneapolis, MN.

Tom served in the U.S. Army in the Signal Corps during WWII and worked his entire career for New England Bell Telephone in Lawrence, MA as a long distance toll test employee. He married Jennie Tomaselli on May 19, 1945. Tom & Jennie loved square dancing and traveled the country for dancing and conventions. Jennie passed away in 1994. Tom moved to Bellingham in 2009 to be with his family. Tom was passionate about playing bingo, and he attended Kiwanis Bingo at the Elk’s Lodge on Tuesday nights. He was an active member of Church of the Assumption. Tom dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter Pat Jeter (husband Don) grandchildren Robert Jeter (companion Brendan Garvin) and David Jeter (wife Sarah) and their twin daughters Lauren and Devin. Memorials in Tom’s name may be made to Hope House, or Whatcom Humane Society.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of the Assumption at 10:30 AM on Monday, January 12th. Reception will follow at the church.
