Thomas Hennessy

Thomas Charles Hennessy, born 8/23/1938 in Minot, ND, passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones at home in Bellingham on 5/18/2022. Tom grew up in Minot, ND, and had a wonderful work family at North Hill Bowl during his employment there from 1960-1972. In 1972, he moved to Bellingham, WA, where he had another wonderful work family at Bellingham Cold Storage for over 35 years. Tom never met a stranger and was a man of strong faith. He loved bowling, poker, penny slots, watching sports on TV, and collecting his nearly 250 polar bears! He had hundreds of hats and wore a different one every Wednesday to poker night (to distract the other players). He was preceded in death by his parents, Josephine (Harmon) and Leo Hennessy, brothers Harley, Duane and Leo and sister Marion. He is survived by sisters Lois Olson and Joyce Eggert, wife Susan Hennessy, daughters Jolene (Hunter) James, LuAnne (Garret) Moeller, Kristi (Joel) Anderson and Nancy MacMillan, son Steve (Monica) Duthie, grandchildren Jackie and Saundra Moeller, Alissa Hennessy, Nichole MacMillan and Gregor and Nora Duthie, great-grandchildren Luci and Greyson Moeller and so many more dear relatives and friends that he considered family. He was loved by all who knew him and he loved them all in return. A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at Westford Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 24th at 10:30 am. A reception will follow.
