Thomas Paul Jeffery passed away on August 8, 2023, in Bellingham, WA. Tom was born to Lena and Stanley Jeffery on July 14, 1943. He lived with his parents and five siblings in an 18’X24’ log cabin in Alger, WA that was built by Tom’s Dad, and had no water or power. After Tom’s family moved to Bellingham, Tom’s youngest sister, Theresa, was born. The cabin was still a place Tom loved, and he would visit it often as a teenager. Tom was always an avid hiker and outdoor man.
After Tom graduated from Ferndale High School, he joined the Air Force and served in the Vietnam War. While residing at the McChord Air Force Base, he met his lifelong friend, Paul Hardin, who was from Idaho. Following serving in the Air Force, Tom worked for Intalco Weyerhaeuser and Reynolds Aluminum, as well as in the forestry industry. Following a tragic accident, Tom underwent brain surgery in 1972.
For the last ten years, Tom resided at Alderwood Care Center in Bellingham, and was able to do gardening in the courtyard, which he loved. A few months before he passed away, Tom suffered a stroke and was no longer able to garden.
Tom was predeceased by his parents, sister Loraine Jeffery, and brother Robert Jeffery. He is survived by his siblings, Mike (Leanah) Jeffery of Spokane, WA, Marjie (Ron) Haling of Bellingham, Ray (Karen) Jeffery of Bellingham, and Theresa Gollen Parker of Bellingham.
The family would like to thank EVERYONE at the Alderwood Care Center for their fantastic love and care they provided Tom.
