Vicki Cragin Critchlow

March 1, 1938 — March 5, 2023

Born in Seattle, WA to Edmund and Idol (Scranton) Cragin on March 1, 1938, Vicki passed away peacefully in her sleep in Bellingham, WA on March 5, 2023. She was predeceased by her beloved husband John Critchlow in 2000 and sisters Barbara (Dick) Williams and Judy (Ward) Morse in 2022. She is survived by sister Nancy (Fred) Ludtke; son John Critchlow; son Mark (Diana) Critchlow; daughter Lisa Critchlow; grandchildren Callie, John, Jessie, and Nikki, and five great-grandchildren.

Vicki attended both WSU and UW but considered herself a Cougar. It made life interesting when she married a diehard Husky, John, on August 19, 1961. They raised their three children in Bellingham. She enjoyed boating, camping, tennis, bike riding, golf, watching sports, reading, gardening, sunny days at the beach, and quality time spent with friends and family. Her biggest passion in life was spending time with her family. She was a champion mother who was the number one fan of her children and grandchildren’s pursuits, faithfully lending support and encouragement in whatever form possible.

Vicki went to work as an administrator for WWU once her youngest child was in high school and enjoyed her 30 years in the geology department until retirement in 2013, a stellar achievement after successfully raising a family.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and was a frequent volunteer after her retirement from WWU.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, April 20th at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 2117 Walnut St. Bellingham, WA, followed by a reception in the Great Hall and burial at Greenacres in Ferndale.
