Vivian Louise Rowe passed away peacefully in Bellingham on July 25, 2018. Vivian was born on January 21, 1921 in Lake McMurray, WA to Guthrie King and Mary (Bognar) King VanOsdol. She married Delbert Rowe on April 11, 1947 in Bellingham. Vivian worked at the Bellingham Herald and later worked 25 years in food service for Bellingham Public Schools. Del and Vivian were dedicated members of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church where they were always quietly helping out with church operations. For many years Del and Vivian enjoyed hosting gatherings for family and friends at their property on Lake Whatcom. Vivian was an avid reader, a talented seamstress, and excellent cook and was noted for her wonderful cherry pies! She was kind, gentle, patient with others, and always loved children, family and animals. She was dedicated to her daughter and always read to her granddaughter when she was growing up. Vivian was predeceased by her loving husband of 65 years, Delbert Rowe and brothers Robert, Ted, Donald and Ralph. Vivian is survived by her daughter Susan Rowe-Neuman, granddaughter Mary-Margaret Rowe-Neuman, brother Richard King many loving relatives and friends, and her favorite cat Lil. Memorials may be made to Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Whatcom Hospice House or Whatcom Humane Society. A graveside service will be held at Bayview Cemetery on Wednesday, August 8th at 1 PM, followed by a memorial service at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at 2 PM. Reception following at the church.
