Wally Blume, age 93, passed away peacefully in Bellingham on Tuesday, March 28, 2017. He was born September 15, 1923 in Redfield, SD, to William and Elmira Blume. Wally served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-45. For most of his career he was a small engine mechanic. He was an avid sports fisherman and enjoyed boating in the San Juan Islands. Wally had a great sense of humor and was dearly loved by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by first wife, Alice “Corinne” Blume in 1970, second wife, Betty Blume in 2011, step-son Jim Lemmon and brothers Donald and Lyndon Blume. Wally is survived by his four children, Rod (wife Adi) Blume, Tom Blume, Connie Blume and Sue (husband Mike) DenAdel; Betty’s children Clayton (wife Sharon) Beltz and Donna Lemmon, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, as well as many loving relatives and friends.
