Walter H. Clements, age 85, went to be with his LORD on Friday, June 9, 2023, in Bellingham, Washington. He leaves behind his loving wife, Jennifer, whom he met while both were working at KVOS-TV in Bellingham. He is also survived by his daughter, Lisa Clements DeAnnuntis, her husband, Michael, and their four children, Sierra, Serena, Christian, and Hayden. Walt also leaves behind his stepdaughter, Laura, and grandson, Malcolm.
Walt began his life near Rutherfordton, North Carolina, where much of his family still lives. After high school he joined the Navy and was eventually stationed at Whidbey Naval Air Station where he was a part of a crew flying reconnaissance in the Pacific. After serving, Walt worked for Boeing, Bellingham Hardware, and then spent the majority of his career at KVOS-TV as an electronic technician.
When Walt was stationed at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station, he met his first wife, NellieAnne Winter. Tragically, he lost NellieAnne to cancer shortly after their daughter, Lisa, was born. NellieAnne’s family was an immense support, and they were a caring, protective, and loving anchor for Lisa.
Walt will always be remembered for his love of gardening. A good part of his leisure time was spent caring for his many beautiful roses and baskets of vibrant begonias and fuchsias. We miss you so much, our dearest husband Walty, Dad, Papa, and friend.
Family and close friends said goodbye at a private graveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ferndale, WA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Whatcom Hospice Foundation.
