Walt Preston died on March 30, 2018 at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Hospital from complications of diabetes. He was born in Washington, D.C. in 1950 and moved to California in 1959 with family. He completed his college degree at Western Washington University. He served his country in the Air Force from 1970-1973. He is survived by his mother, Angela Preston, his sister, Jeanne, brothers, Bob and Larry, several nieces and nephews and cousins. His wit, love of good comedy and tender heartedness will be missed. His love of the Pacific Northwest outdoors drew him to enjoy living in Bellingham, where he enjoyed the scenic beauty and the friendliness of all the people he met throughout his life. Special acknowledgements to the local Fire Department, PeaceHealth St. Joseph medical and nursing staff, Bellingham Food Bank, Catherine May residence, Aging and Disability Resource Center services and Northwest Regional Council.
