Wesley A. Giger was born on May 19, 1929, in Red Cloud, Nebraska and passed away on May 5, 2017, in Bellingham, Washington at the age of 87. The Gigers moved from Nebraska to Washington in 1939 where Wes followed his grandfather's footsteps and became a painter. Wes was considered by many to be the best painter in town until he retired in 1992. Wes had a wide variety of interests. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, woodworking and telling a good joke. He was an excellent saxophone player and many of you may have danced to the music he and his band played. Wes was preceded in death by his son Steven Giger and his brother Robert Giger. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marjorie, his children, Randy Key (Jan), Mike Giger, Mary Ann Flint (Tony) and John Giger Koens (Jo Ann). He also leaves behind five grandchildren, David, Richard, Sam, Michael, Nichole and Kevin and six great grandchildren. A Memorial Service for Wes will be held at the Garden Street United Methodist Church, 1326 N. Garden St, on Saturday, May 20th, at 2 p.m. There will be a reception following the service.
