William Masters, age 93 of Bellingham, passed away April 7, 2014. He was born May 20, 1920 in Redditch, England to Karl and Maud Masters. He grew up and went to school in England. During WWII, Bill served in the Royal Air Force and received a Defense Medal. After the war he lived in Vancouver, B.C. and worked for Hudson’s Bay Company. He came to Bellingham in 1947 and married Marjorie Meck in 1951. They met on a blind date and were married 62 years. Bill was president of Mt. Baker Plywood. He was later a purchasing agent for Western Washington University and co-founder of the Old Town Christian Ministries. He also served on the board at the Lighthouse Mission. Bill is survived by his wife Marjorie "Margie", daughters Mary Romond, Heidi Unick, grandchildren Amy and Carrie Unick, Nathan and Sean Romond, son-in-law Dean Romond, great-grandson William “Billy” Dudley Malliot, sisters-in-law Joan Masters of England and Beverly Pope of Australia cousins George Morton of England, Hilary Morton of England and Mary Hill of England and many loving family members and friends. Bill was a very kind man and had a lot of patience. He praised the Lord for his long life and everything the Lord had done for him. He will be greatly missed and loved by all.
