William “Bill” Nilsson, age 79, passed away January 13, 2011 in Bellevue, WA. He was born January 16, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY to Edward & Marie (Stolz) Nilsson. He married Ellen Inouye in Glendale, CA on June 21, 1987. Bill & Ellen moved from their residence in Monrovia, CA in 1995 to spend their retirement years in Bellingham. During their time together, they loved travelling extensively, and Bill was very involved with the choir at Garden Street Methodist Church. Due to ailing health, Ellen and Bill moved to Overlake Terrace in Redmond, WA in 2005. In 2009, Bill moved to Mission Healthcare of Bellevue to accommodate his need for greater assistance. Bill was preceded in death by his wife in 2009.
William is survived by his sister and brother-in law, Audrey and William Snow of Placentia, CA and nieces Janet Kaku of San Jose, CA; Linda Matsudaira of Beaux Arts, WA, and Barbara Meirerhenry of Sacramento, CA; nephew Robert Jenner of Olympia, WA; 7 great- nieces; and 4 great-nephews.
A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held at Westford Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 19 from 2 PM. Burial will follow at Bayview City Cemetery, followed by a reception at Westford’s Broadway Hall, 1300 Broadway.
