Lifetime Bellingham resident Bill Waters, age 85 passed away peacefully at Whatcom Hospice House on March 27, 2014. He was born November 12, 1928 in Bellingham to William “Bill” and Myrt Waters. Bill graduated from Assumption Catholic School and Bellingham High School in 1946. Bill served in the US Coast Guard at the end of the Korean War. He married Bonita “Bonnie” Tieman on October 17, 1957 in Bellingham. Bill was a dedicated and hard-working commercial fisherman, known for his boat “Tulip”. He was a devout member of Assumption Catholic Church. Bill was a member of the American Legion, the Elks Club, and the Bellingham Yacht Club. Bill enjoyed watching sports. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Patricia Ferry and Virginia Keplinger Dietz. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Bonita “Bonnie” Waters, brother Larry Waters, nephew Shawn (Danielle) Waters, niece Shannon (Dale) Vander Yacht, and numerous nieces and nephews.
