Winnifred "Winnie" Desrosiers

Our mother, Winnie Desrosiers, passed away peacefully at home in La Conner, WA on August 16, 2016. She was 94, born March 8, 1922 in Antler, ND to Thomas and Ruth (Dipple) Rocke.

Mom was dedicated to loving and caring for others, especially her husband Gerry. She deeply loved her children and wanted us to know that. Mom was an excellent homemaker and was talented at sewing, knitting, and growing fresh vegetables. She was an active learner and enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and people watching. She enjoyed painting, playing bridge, dancing, going for walks, and talking with her sisters. Mom was curious and always wanted to know the end of the story. She prayed daily, was devoted to her Church, and was ready for Jesus to take her home. Mom, you are home with Jesus now, and we look forward to seeing you again.

Winnie was preceded in death by her first husband Kris Westford, second husband Gerry Desrosiers, siblings Vincent, Jim, Dorothy “Dova”, Pat, and Fran “Mike”. She is survived by her children Dianne (Gene) Munson, Gay (Jim) Smith, Sharon (Henry) Curran, Ken (Gayle) Westford, Ruthanne (Jeff) Bush and Michelle Capps, 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, sisters Veronica Westford, Grace (Bob) Reid, Joan Boone, and many loving relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church in La Conner, 413 Douglas St. at 11 am on Saturday, August 20th with Fr. James L. Dalton officiating. Reception following. Memorials may be made to Friendship House, 1008 S. 3rd St., Mount Vernon, WA 98273.
