Youn Heng was born on January 6, 1960 in Preah Vihear, Cambodia. She had to immigrate to the U.S. after surviving the hardships of a refugee camp in 1979. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who was filled with love and concern for her family, children, grandchildren, and friends. She enjoyed spending many hours in the mountains gathering an assortment of natural goods which she in turn would use to help support her family. She lived the simple life through cooking, gardening, fishing, and watching over her grandchildren when they visited. Her strength, determination, and her strong will had served her all her life until her last breath.
